Congratulations to Cristian Petersen from Argenvans Worldwide Removals who attended 2023 FIDI Conference in Bangkok as the FIDI 39 Club Scholarship winner

This is what Cristian had to say about the scholarship programme

Getting involved with the project of the winning essay was a life changing experience for me.

It really made me get more conscious about our future and how part of our society is most affected by the processes that are happening around the world.

It made me understand that we must get more active in matters of sustainability and social development. We are responsible of making an effort to think of others and how we can work as a team.

Our companies have an impact different communities and promote they promote a sustainable economy. Part of the project was to get Argenvans staff more involved with a training program in which we all learned about the correct separation of debris and scrap materials, this made us understand that recycling works as a network, and every link in the chain is important. As I wrote in the essay, no one will be saved alone. We are all thrilled to be a part of this initiative, we felt very helpful and we believe that it is possible to generate a good social impact on the community.

The Cooperative we are assisting is composed mainly by women who are single mothers that with the resources they obtain from recycling they obtain an income for their families.
I really hope this essay encourages other people to work on this kind of project in their companies, neighborhoods, and their own houses.

Cristian Petersen at FIDI 39 Club conference

What was your experience at the FIDI Conference in Bangkok, Thailand?

Being able to participate in the FIDI conference in Bangkok was a very enriching experience.

It was a great opportunity to develop my personal growth and my professional career in this ever-changing industry. Also, the workshops and the discussion panels were an excellent way to keep learning and stay updated.

Getting in contact with the people behind the name of an email was the thing I liked the most about my participation in FIDI Bangkok. I really think that the possibility of doing business with a social approach is the best way to do it. I Learned a lot about exchanging experiences with colleagues from all around the world. The networking was amazing!

Are there any new developments on the project since the conference?

We started working with a small volume of and we are expecting to have a monthly increase.  The idea is to expand this to our partners in the supply chain and be able to collect a bigger volume.

So far we have collected 2 CBM in March, 5 CBM in April 2023 and we are working on our next delivery. Our goal is to reach  10 CBM of recycling material per month. Something like three 40 feet containers full per year, collecting recyclable materials from our warehouse and office.
